About
Gabe Travis was formally trained as an oil painter, and in 1999, due to limited studio space, began working in small-scale mixed media collage and immediately fell in love with the medium. He is also a self-taught log and timber builder, currently at work on a small cabin.
Gabe lives with his wife, writer Christine Byl, in the foothills of the Alaska Range, on Ahtna/Dena'ina lands, near Denali National Park. Together they co-own the trail design, construction, and consulting company, Interior Trails.
A mountain, snow, and bird lover, Gabe spends as much time as possible outside in wild spaces.
